This spaghetti western soundtrack piece started as an exercise to better understand and dissect one of the most infamous pieces of spaghetti western music by Ennio Morricone.

I am well aware that this piece sounds derivative – that was the idea. I wanted to create a piece that filmakers, videographers and other content creators could use (affordably) whilst trying my best to capture the aesthetic of Morricone’s original.

I learnt a lot about the artistry and craftmanship of Morricone’s original work while putting this song together. It gave me a much greater appreciation for the clever thematic repetitions, variations and developments that he employed within the piece.
