Gun-slingers, open plains and the wild western frontier. This song embodies the classic spaghetti western soundtrack genre made popular by Ennio Morricone and movies like “The Good, The Bad & The Ugly”.

Description

Background & Inspiration

This is a classic spaghetti western piece drawing on inspiration from the amazing work of Ennio Morricone in the Sergio Leone film “The Good, The Bad & The Ugly”. It is meant to evoke the same sort of aesthetic as the infamous opening theme. I wanted to create a piece that filmakers, videographers and other content creators could use (affordably) whilst trying to capture the aesthetic of Ennio Morricone’s infamous spaghetti western piece.

The Sound

The idea was to really try and capture the vintage sound of 1960s spaghetti western by apply tape and tube saturation to the production. This creates a very authentic lo-fi vibe which will only add tasteful character to your project.

Instrumentation

Present are the ubiquitous western whistle, vibraslap, tremolo guitars as well as American Indian style chanting and vocalisations. There is orchestral percussion which includes a tribal sounding rhythm section throughout as well as tubular bells to punctuate the piece with an ominous atmosphere.

Composition

The piece has a number of thematic ideas which repeat with variation and grows in intensity throughout. The piece starts at 110 bpm and increases to120 bpm after first guitar theme section.
Although presented as a complete song, sections can be looped and truncated if need be.
